Action packer tote11/18/2023 ![]() If security can get an idea what's inside they are less likely to open it. Keep "hard stuff" to a minimum, but think in terms of books, comics or smaller artwork tucked down the sides on the way home.Ĩ) A translucent tub is better than an opaque one. Make sure this will not peel off and the information is clear and readable.ħ) Use the spare room (if any) for soft stuff - puppets, spare clothing etc. (OK you can use any permanant marker, but you already have the blue one right there from the other labels)ĥ) Inside the tub, on top of the contents put a sheet of paper with the address and contact information of your destination (con hotel on the way out, home on return).Ħ) On the lid of the tub, put the same destination information in a secure clear envelope (such as FedEx uses for waybills) or under clear packing tape. If you don't get the chance to do this, the luggage check in attendant probably has some messy wide printed plastic tape to label it with - make sure to ask.Ĥ) On both the inside and outside bottom of the tub, and the inside of the lid use the same blue marker to put all information for your permanant (home) shipping address. This is important - if you don't do this it may be routed as cargo and it'll get there a week or two later. Try to keep electrical stuff in the tub to a minimum.ġa)I don't know if it would help (havent had the chance to try it), but a printed page on top of the contents describing any electronics or circuits in the suit, (maybe even with photos) may stop them from digging into stuff.Ģ) Provide spare tie-wraps on top of the contents (preferrably different from the ones you used to secure the package for quick recognition if it's been opened) and a note asking security to please use them to refasten the lid as it was fastened when they opened it.ģ) Get a fat tipped BLUE permanant marker pen and put the word "BAGGAGE" in large friendly 3" letters on all six faces. If you do it will almost certatinly be opened for inspection. You do NOT want the lid to open while under the "care" of the baggage "handlers".ġ) Don't put any battery packs (RC, Gel Cell etc) in the pack.
